Retinar Selected by the FITBA 2024 Program

Retinar is one of the projects selected in the third call of the Buenos Aires Technological Innovation Fund (FITBA), run by the Ministry of Production, Science, and Technological Innovation of the Province of Buenos Aires.

The FITBA program supports universities and science and technology institutions in developing innovations that enhance the competitiveness of industrial SMEs and cooperatives, contribute to the design and implementation of public policies, or address challenges faced by municipalities across the province. This latest edition received 352 project submissions—double the number from 2023 and a 170% increase compared to 2022. And Retinar is one of the 68 selected projects!

The grant will allow us to partner with Lamansys, a spin-off incubated at the Pladema Institute of the National University of the Center of the Province of Buenos Aires, to jointly implement an extension point for the Integrated Health Record. This will enable users of this electronic health record system to access our platform for blindness prevention due to diabetes, powered by artificial intelligence. It also includes access to high-performance computing equipment, essential for ensuring the platform runs effectively.

We’re thrilled by this achievement and look forward to sharing updates on this new project soon.
