We won the Transformative AI Award from the National Secretariat of Innovation, Science, and Technology!! 💥 🏆 🥳
Today we participated, along with nine other innovative AI projects, in the pitch session for the Transformative AI Award—an innovation award in artificial intelligence organized by the SICyT as part of National AI Week. José Ignacio Orlando, co-founder of Retinar, presented our initiative to improve access to ophthalmologic checkups for people with diabetes through AI and telemedicine based on fundus imaging… and we won!
The award will help fund part of our clinical studies and give us access to Clementina, the supercomputer from the former Ministry of Science, which will allow us to continue developing cutting-edge AI models for visual disease detection.
None of this would have been possible without the support of the entire Yatiris community at the Pladema Institute of the National University of the Center of the Province of Buenos Aires, and the scientific funding we received from institutions such as CONICET, the I+D+i Agency, and UNICEN itself.
We’re absolutely thrilled! Here are some photos from the event.
