We Presented Retinar to the Minister of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires

On Monday, March 31st, we had the honor of presenting Retinar to the Minister of Health of the Province of Buenos Aires, Nicolás Kreplak, and part of his cabinet during their visit to Tandil as part of the preparations for the Provincial Health Congress (COSAPRO).

The presentation took place at the former Dispensary building (España 101), alongside Dr. Martina Iparraguirre, Director of Health Region VIII, and the team from the Tandil Pulmonology Service. Together, we are working on the installation of a retinal imaging capture node for ophthalmological screening of people with diabetes, integrating artificial intelligence to assist in the early detection of high-risk cases.

Representing the Retinar team were José Ignacio Orlando, Mercedes Leguía, and Ignacio Larrabide, co-founders of the project, as well as CONICET fellows Lucas Telesco and Franco Arellano, who are pursuing their doctoral theses on topics related to this initiative.

We are deeply grateful to the Minister and his team for their visit and support. This meeting strengthens the collaboration between the National University of the Center of the Province of Buenos Aires (UNICEN) and the Provincial Ministry of Health, and encourages us to continue advancing our mission of improving access to ophthalmological diagnostics through AI and telemedicine.
